Collar instead of backpack?
A collar that looks like a smartphone watch would look better than the bulky backpack the cat is wearing. If we're going to be playing a cat game I would think most people would want the cat to look as natural as possible. Just my opinion

I agree and hope there will be mods for this.
So how is the cat going to transport it's robot buddy? Are we just going to pretend it's in a pocket dimension?

I have already beaten the game and the robot buddy coming from another dimension is fine by me if my cat looks natural. Plz someone just mod remove that backpack or whatever it is.

Would be way too big and heavy for the cats neck.

Like it's a fully functional backpack and a battery for the robo-buddy, how do you expect a collar do these things? I personally like it, looks pretty logical for its purpose.

Without wishing to be rude, this isn't a cat simulator. It's a cyberpunk game where the protagonist is a cat. It makes sense for the cat to carry gear given the setting. Not saying I like the look of it, just that the "it's a cat game" isn't really a compelling argument. Your cat is never going to be "as natural as possible" while carrying a large inventory, conversing with robots and killing mutated cacodemons with the UV flashlight from Blade.

Warning: spoilers
It's a portable charging station for B-12, not a backpack. While I agree mostly with the sentiments of the opposing parties above, it really doesn't matter if it's a collar or harness in regard to carrying items. They're digitized by B-12 for transport (hence being able to get the keys before actually putting the harness on). What purpose it serves is to charge B-12, because as they mentioned in the beginning, their power supply is tiny/insufficient.

I quite like the harness. My cat has a similarly shaped one, actually, made of fleece for going out in the winter months. All that said, an electric collar would be cute, too, but B-12 would need to be plugged in all the time. I'm sure that wouldn't hamper game play too much since they're always above you (and when they're not, I imagine it wouldn't be unreasonable to animate a B-12-controlled, retractable power-supply cord). Would make for some nice DLC content later on down the road.

7 Energy drink cans? Where did you find them?

I struggle to find a fourth one in the robot city so I can buy the last item from the Market vendor.

Theres only 4, the 4th one was requires a couple of jumps to reach if i recall, i think it was somewhere around the two robots sitting next to a barrel on fire, talking to each other.

Also i heard its only available on the 2nd Slum chapter but not sure on that one.

i mean, it can somehow turn physical objects into digital and back again, so why not a pocket dimension?

Aside from providing B12 a place to shut down its propulsion system and conserve power, how would Cat carry 7 cans of energy drinks, a post card, 4 note books, and a note, written in binary under a collar? Poor Cat would be so unbalanced walking would be almost impossible.

I like the back pack as well BUT it only stores the drone and badges. B-12 "digitizes" the physical objects, as stated when he picks up the first keys. While not explained I assume it's similar to Star Trek replicator tech but he can only make things he first "digitizes".

I don't know why you think it looks any more unusual than a collar. You can literally walk in to any pet shop and buy a body harness that looks very much like the cat backpack in this game from the same rack as the collars.

The robot does that, not the harness.

i know, i meant that it wouldn't be that much of a stretch for that kind of tech to exist if they they can digitize and then remake objects,
