I personally don't like the idea of an evil Uncle Fred. The idea of an evil Uncle falls in with the idea of crime in the city. We have rivalries and theft mechanics that have been added. This isn't GTA or Saints Row or any of the more recent simulator games that seem to just be crime.
The original focus of the game was meant to be on legal businesses and building up from there to your own production chains as well as retail outlets and office based businesses. I bought this game to set up and manage businesses and hopefully make a profit. It ticks off all those little spreadsheet and design things that I can't do in real life.
In the future if they wanted to add a preset scenario/challenge that included all these crime ideas that was optional that would be one thing. Personally that's not why I bought this game (or why I constantly recommend it) and I wouldn't be interested in such a feature.
I don't go into the crime game forums and insist on being able to run legal businesses in them. I also don't ask for multiplayer in single player games (or vice versa!). I feel like this is an awesome single player management game and it should shine for exactly what it is. :)
It s not about "Crime Ideas"
It is about giving the Game ...you know.... a Story that is more than: Grandma dead, you sad, here game, go make money.
And for the evil fred:
He ties into the Rivalry Gamemechanic. The way i envision it, he would just crank it up. Like the worst rival * 2.
The thing is: once you know what to do, it can become more of a grind then anything. Basicly you know what to do, when to do it, and are just waiting for x money because: win game.
But now it is about: Destroying Fred who killed your Grandman..... motivation.
+ a difficulty spike brings in some new wind that makes the game interessting again.
Sometimes it is OK for a game to show family in a positive light.
But a little heartless capitalism and disregard for poor schmucks would be funny spice to the story.
