I find wine shops easy to setup (not so many requirements) and quite profitable. Plus you can also sell cigars.
But you could have a look at the market insider's demand tab, see what product's worth selling in your neighborhood.

Juwelry can work well. Needs very little space,... but usually demena is so high that you are limited by the 15 limit and it kind of feels like a waste.

You can run anything you want, and you can sell anything you want regardless of what type of store you have.

In my campaign gameplay I started with a gift shop as it was one of the objectives, but I was selling cheap gifts, expensive gifts, wine and cigar in it too.

It was earning me roughly $7,000 a day after expenses which was helpful during my first few weeks.

Anything you want but jewellery store I would say.

I would do Jewelry only if the traffic index is >= 40 and they are to expensive for a fresh game.

Even then, not in a 15 capacity building, though. The way demand works for expensive jewelry, they won't really sell!

Sure, but you can get Profit out of them.

And btw... Jewelry wasn't my suggestion ;)

It's a lot easier with the larger store sizes. In fact, the 75-capacity stores can look very empty with only the default items in them!

the 15 capacity has two layouts, one feels like it's rly big and one is just rly small

that said, no one said your store can't be cramped

to expand on jewelry, the store is quality sales, meaning it already has an extremely low customer rate and this scales off of building size, i would recommend a 30 capacity minimum but even then don't expect 30 customers

think i got like 6-9 on a 30 capacity and 1 in an 15 capacity

for a 15 capacity i'd recommend gift shops, liquor and flower, but i'd more recommend just never using 15 capacity

If even using 15 capacity, does gift shops, flowers, liquor, newellery etc have troubles with reaching higher capacity max clients per hour?

your final recommendation...LOL

Well, but it is true.
Currently the capacity is hardcoded for each room size, when in reality that would not be the case.

You need (much) more room for a food selling buisiness, then a juwelry store.
While even a small juwelry store can easily have hundreds of people per hour, a small food store would not be able to handle that due to the time they stay there and the room they need to move around.

They should scrap the bottleneck from room size to be frank.
If you can fit enough people in there and enough cash registers, you should be golden.
Just let customer happiness drop, if they step on too many other toes. It will balance out.

My current best store is a juwelry one. Maxed size with just 10 displays.
Like 90% of the space is totally empty, because I don't need the space, I just need to capacity for people,...

i don't think you can reasonably hit max capacity per hour regardless of shop size, but i've also never had perfect demand and perfect indexes

i usually max out the first gift shops marketing and it gives me a few customers though

a small jewelry will struggle to have any people, a fast food place will basically always be full barring the weakest hours

even with 6 customers per hour though a jewelry store will out perform a fast food place that has 30, fast food do suffer though in smaller buildings though which is sad

One of the biggest problems with the 15 capacity stores is that they're inefficient in terms of labor costs. A single employee with a checkout stand (not cash register) is enough to meet capacity for a 30 capacity store, so there's no benefit in terms of labor costs for running a smaller business than that. And since rental costs are also low...the only real upside of using a 15 capacity store over a 30 capacity is that it's lower cost to set up.
