Factory questions

I assume that raw materials are delivered to the pallet shelves. Is that correct? Is the output also stored in the pallet shelves? I would appreciate some clarification on this subject.

Yes and no. The raw materials are delivered by importers and get stored in the warehouse (factory) on pallet shelves. Then factory workers (or you, if you feel so inclined) take the appropriate raw material and load it into the Input Station (it can take up to 6 boxes of the raw materials). Then the line runs and produces finished goods which come out of the Output Station. It has the same kind of inventory (slots for 6 boxes) and needs to be brought by a factory worker (or you) to the pallet shelves for distribution.

The help system says that I need cleaners in the factory. I have a cleaning station but I cannot assign a cleaner. Only shops shows up in the business list.

I haven't noticed a need for cleaners in the factory/warehouse yet. That said, if it's in the help system, it's probably going to be coming soon. I already have them in my offices. (One 100% skill part time cleaner for 3-4 hours every 8 hour shift seems to keep everyone happy in offices and at all but the most high traffic retail shops)

You can use the splitter to split a production flow. I have the problem that I cannot attach two sewing maschines to the splitter. You need to diverge the two conveyer belts after the spitter and I do see how to do that.
