Your first paragraphs would be interesting, but doesn't seem to work the way you're suggesting. I just went to a factory and removed a worker from an input station and then the station stopped adding more then I left the factory and the production stopped and the factory tab said "not running" due to missing products and the inventory stopped increasing.
I'm not sure what you're saying in your second paragraphs. The splitter is used to feed multiple machines that have different timings. Jewelry for example... the laser cutter takes twice as long as the the other machines so your input feeds to a splitter with two laser cutters then a single polisher and single consumer goods machine. Or can be used to send, like metal bands, to different consumer good machines.
Max out those machines, still i can build more of them elsewhere but i’m far away from meeting my own needs for the fast food joints at this point, my produced icecream so far is more like a reserve until i’m able to produce more of it, in case of shortages but even then a too small quantity of it.
