Otherwise, I wouldn't be hiring them if they are exactly the same as a taxi. Driving myself to places is A LOT faster than a taxi as I avoid obstacles by driving like GTA. Not to mention, the driving by AI ticks me off at the moment as they drive so slow. 2-3 cars per green/red light when there's a long line of cars. Personally, I would find them useless if they're exactly like a taxi; the only difference is they'd be hired by you & get to drive whatever car you command them to drive.
Not sure if the driving changed in EA 0.5 as I only played the experimental build for a bit to get a preview of it, then I went back to the live build.
Some people prefer the taxi to avoid driving, but they don't like searching for one. With the private driver, you wouldn't have to search and chase them down. Yes, it would still take some time and more money but would be more efficient than the taxi.
But the taxi is a perfectly good choice (or the subway), if you choose those methods. Or take an electric scooter and avoid all the engines!
And if you still prefer to drive around yourself and get there as fast as possible, you have that option!
I hope that I can assign my personal chauffeur to whatever vehicle im using. If I use a van to build up a store I want to assign my chauffeur to that van. Or my Truck.
Thanks, David. You basically answered my question.
I just wanted to know if the personal driver was going to be able to be commanded to do things like being a "speed demon" instead of following traffic rules. It sounds like it's gonna be similar to a taxi except you can call it on demand based on what you said.
I was just commenting that if you end up not liking them, there are options, and there's nothing wrong with having your own preferences for in-game transportation!
