Jewelry seems broken
Ok the prieces for jewelry are broken. I canot sell the jewelry for the NY Distro purchase price but in Midtown. The other district max prices are below the purchase price. This has to be looked at by the devs.
A google cheat doc states the purchase price for expensive jewelry at 33885.55 but in reallity the price is at abour 89k for a 50 box. The sale prices of the sheet seems still accurate as I tried higher sell prices and people are complaining

A couple things to keep in mind - at NY Distro, you're buying a box of jewelry, but you're selling individual pieces. So, the price you're selling for is higher than you're buying overall.

Also, to use those max prices on the google sheet, you need to ensure your employees are at 100% skill!

So 89k / 50 pieces are 1750 each in purchase price. Only Midtown can get this price. To be able to make a profit in the other districts the box cannot be over 50k in purchase

The price seems to fluctuate immensly. Now it is not 89k but 77.5k still at 1550 a piece over the sell max. The cheap jewlelry is at 10.3 at 205 a piece also way over the max price. I think the fluctuating price range is way out of line.

Because wholesale price is also affected by import index, when you already have to pay more via wholeseller, the 0.1 increase in import index will make already expensive products cost even higher.

Yes I understand that. But in no scenario does it make sense that the purchase price would be higher than the maximal sale price. In the real world this would mean every business goes bankrupt and after that the Wholesalers will too.

In gameplay this means if you have a varrying import index you need to adjust the max sale price accodingly. I play on difficult by the way, maybe other settings are not as much affected

You are right, it makes no sense, yet it make sense because current retail price is hard capped, easy/normal have higher cap, but still its a hard cap.

What difficulty are you on? The product prices are based on difficulty. It sounds like your prices are hard mode prices, which is why you're finding it to be more difficult. In normal mode, the prices are much lower and easier to deal with.

Difficult should not mean impossible. Ok I can simply use the shipment wholesaler. I am in no way unable to cope, but it should be noted somewhere that the wholesaler on difficult could be more expensive than the sale price. however, i haven't noticed this on any other item besides jewelry. So maybe I was lucky with the other items but I haven't done much wholesale shopping besides my first company. I only noticed the jewelry stuff because I wanted to add some cases as secondary items in one of my shops and wanted to stock the cases real fast.

This is an absolute reality in the real world and on hard mode, I would expect this to happen periodically in a business sim.

I've come across this as well.

Custom Game:
Cheap Jewelry whole selling between $8.6k and $7.7k at 120% difficulty settings not 100%.
Default retail price is $160 which barely makes $8k. If you bump the price to $170 per piece not a single one sells in a day.

Compared to a story game set on 'Hard' profit with the first gift shop is easy.

Sounds like your employees aren't trained very well - their skill/level of training will impact how high of a price the people are willing to pay.

This was at the beginning with the MC not an employee. I get it the MC does not have a high CS skill. But we can't change that either.

Jewelry had no competition, but you can't profit on it in the beginning of the game.

Ah, that makes sense. Well in good news, stores are going through a big rebalancing for EA 0.5, and jewelry should be a bit better now, which should really help with this issue!
