What's the point of happiness?
Other than the bad things that happen when it gets really low, what does it affect? All I can find are threads on how to get it to 100%, but no one seems to mention its impact on the game.

mood

the annoying employees that ask for a peaceful work environment require 50% happiness, there is like no other reason and it can be just ignored

You can also enter a sad period if your happiness level is 0% which means you can’t enter any buildings except your house or car. I recommend at least keeping your happiness level at least 25%.

Ah alright. I knew about not being able to enter businesses when it was critical, but hadn't seen the employee complaint yet. Would've been nice if there was an incentive to keeping it high instead of just avoiding the consequences of it getting low, but then again, I don't care to micromanage the stat anyway. Thanks.

it's not a complaint, it's just one of the requirements that they can have like 'part/full time'

typically i just avoid those ones because it's annoying to micromanage my happiness for no real benefit

There is no real point to happiness other than the one missions that requires you to max it to advance. I never hire people who require peaceful environment (they seem rare anyways), I want to be able to plan my day the way I want without having to walk to the park/boat, watch TV etc when an employee demands it...
