How do you get nice interior designs?
I spent 2k changing the walls and floors in a business, only for the customers to still think it's ugly. Doing trial and error would seem to cost a fortune and I'm not even sure if there's an option to change the colour of certain flooring, so if expensive equals good, all my shops are going to look the same and mismatched.

I like games letting you have a blank canvas for designing places so maybe devs could rebalance a bit so it's partly about have you designed it more than how, although for gameplay it makes some sense that expense/luxury may be relevant at times, maybe you can choose difficulty and this includes customer 'adaptabilty' to your tastes!

With the idea of adding hotels if they went with that suggestion the level of 'luxury' would still be an interesting dynamic gameplay wise.

That's bs urban legend. Depends on store size. Basically 80$ wall paint on all walls is enough. Probably even 70$ one, because I have used one cheaper wall before. But I do like 80$ paint more and don't have to switch.
For a 75m² store that's roughly half of the 5k.

well not sure if it's BS.. I have done three stores now.. my first small gift shop.. a medium restaurant and then just now my jewelry store.. the magic number was 5k spent.

HAD to do both floors and walls in my gift shop and it was tiny as hell.

It would be nice to get some ACTUALLY dev clarification though on this matter. A green check mark or some kind of $$ amount per building.. something to let us know.
