Mod Support is Essential

I really like this game and gave it a positive review, but I believe that mod support should be moved up the development roadmap. The issue with putting it later is that it eliminates a lot of potential content, at a time when extra stuff would help fill the game up. Unlocking the community's creativity would be a quick way to add to Big Ambitions without taxing the developers or bogging down their schedule. It would take the game to the next level faster than waiting for new betas could.

Disagree, it's fine where it's at in the roadmap. The problem with many games that allow mods that are constantly changed is that many mods get left in the wayside and abandoned that were integral. Let the game be feature complete before adding in mods

This is only true if you believe mods 'fix' games, particularly when you refer to the 'modern gaming industry'.

Many here might remember when games were as they came and no input was possible. When Roberta Williams designed a game for example, that's what you got. Period.

In this modern era, everyone knows better than the developer and wants changes made to suit their 'play-style' ad infinitum - which is why Early Access is such a great development model... most of the time.

Ultimately no game can *ever* hope to cater for all the options people want now - not without taking 5 years longer at 5 times the cost.

Mods cover the niche wants, some absurd, some obvious, and is often used to increase game longevity once the original has played out, as many would attest to.

Imagine there was a drug mod where u could hire people to grow/produce illegal items. There could be an entirely separate dark market, you could import from different countries. You could creat some sort of punishment for getting caught.
