Is having 2 cashiers beneficial for a fast food store?

I was previously using 2 cashiers for my fast food store, however when i tried using only 1 cashier my profits doubled, even do the line was usually packed, and many were complaining that there was no cash register because of the line. I am a bit confused as it seems like a no brainer to have many cashiers to double the capacity at which i can sell, but the profits seem to say otherwise.

look at your building capacity. A cash register handles 20 an hour, if you have a cap of 15 then 1 is enough, if you have 30 then you need 2. same with burgers, 1 grill does 15 so if your cap is 30 you need 2 of them.

Its just you paying for another worker, say 25 bucks an hour 7 hours a day that's another 175 bucks you have to pay every day.

Thanks for the detailed explanation, had no idea grills and alike had a set limit like that, ill definitely take that into account in the future
