minimum stock in logistics
If, for my coffee shop, I set the minimum stock for "Donuts" to be 1000, what does it do?

They pull from your warehouse. You dont need a minimum of 1000 thats a lot of you have regular delivers.

I'm just not sure how often my warehouse delivers to my Coffee Shop when the stock goes under 1000.... The weekly consumption of Donuts inside the coffee shop is about 2600.

I believe the warehouses deliver every midnight.

The warehouse screen would be better if it showed you how many boxes of a stock you want to store instead of the value, as 1000 fries is a hell of a lot different to 1000 wine (1000 wine is 40 boxes worth IIRC). Perhaps if you could select that you want X boxes and have it show how many of that item it would actually be so I don't have to manually work it out.

My issue is the two different measurements used within the game makes it needlessly more complex.

This is hands down the most useful comment I’ve seen in respect of this game. I’ve followed the tutorial, got a number of businesses up and running with HQ’s and warehouses yet still was spending most of my time stocking shops and for the life of me could not understand it. One tweak and I’m now sitting pretty. Thank you kind stranger, what you said is obvious now I know but I clearly needed to be told it to grasp the concept. I also agree that the two scales is confusing

be aware that the donuts in the fryers also count towards the stock - so in a 1000m² café you have to have 4 Donut Fryers which means you have to stock at least 400 to fill up the fryers. In my 1000 m² Murray Hills Supermarket I set a stock auf 1200 Donuts and its running out on at least 1 fryer each day.

Can't agree more on this. Even when ordering stuff for your warehouse, you never sure they will fit or not

There are a couple issues here:

Currently, you don't know how much your warehouse can hold in total or how much is in there currently. A better display with that information is coming in the future, so that should help a lot!

For ordering inventory, the reason it's in units instead of boxes is exactly for the reason you mentioned - if you know your store is selling 140 fries and 140 wine, that's a completely different number of boxes, so we have the units so the player doesn't have to keep trying to do that math. However, I think it would be helpful to *also* list the number of boxes, as you suggested, so you know how much room this is going to take in your warehouses/stores.

This information in addition to the warehouse capacity should allow you to order intelligently, but still plan your storage accordingly.

I get where you're coming from with that, but it doesn't appear to work that way. If you order 1 pizza or 60 it'll take up the same amount of storage. So currently you have to try and remember how many pallet shelves you have, how many types of goods you wish to store there and then check the spreadsheet for how many items per box there is, then calculate what you want to store. I've not noticed the game merging any boxes and you often end up with several boxes that have had items taken out which leads to a growing amount of boxes over time from my observations which is least optimal.

What I had envisioned would be to select the amount of boxes and have it show you how many units of said item that would be, with the amount of storage available within the warehouse that's not assigned to other orders - but it looks like you're going down this route sort-of anyhow which is very good to know. I'm hoping some form of upgrade of this system is coming within the next patch, even if it's not the full planned version of the feature so we have something less frustrating to work with in the mean time.

I'm hoping my posts don't come across as negative, I like this game and see the potential of where it can go and from my experiences with the dev from their past game I have absolute faith that we'll get to that stage in the future.
