I am rich but bored !
I didn't do the story mode and went straight into the sandbox mode with $4000 at start. I went from being a salesman to owning 6 companies that earn me $500,000 a week. And I have 5 million dollars in capital. I bought some nice cars, invested in the stock market, rented a new apartment but I'm bored.

I know I can buy companies and real estate but at the management level I have nothing to do. I think that being able to buy shares of companies in the city listed on the stock exchange or being able to list my company on the stock exchange, a bit like in Capitalism 2, could add mechanics to the end game, with decision-making power for the big shareholders. It also lacks the competitive aspect between compagny with price fluctuation and events like financial crisis for several days or fires that ravage the store making it inaccessible for several days (with the addition of insurance), robbery event and burglary. In short the game is very very good but I think it lacks some mechanics to make it more dynamic and interesting in the long run.

lol I've done it in real life but I don't like to have too much stress and pressure so I prefer to do it in a video game

yes same for me, after a while we have nothing else to do except speed up time and watch our capital growing up.

But i guess its the end of the early access and we must wait until devs add end game contents and mods.
This game have a solid base and I'm sure it can become a great one.

Yea I suppose it's natural to feel deflated at this point. Every game suffers the same problem. I had an absolute blast though going from the verge of bankruptcy to selling 50 bottles of wine a day. Then expanding after that. Great fun.

For all the people talking about how much money they have. Click the Properties for sale tab. That will put some perspective on it.

As for 'things' to do to kill time. Thats another story I suppose. Once you start to become fully automated it gets 'easier'. I just walk around and go into all the AI run businesses to see how they set them up.

If you want to not be bored, try cornering a market. First in a district, then in the entire city.

Or try to purchase an entire city block.

There's really no point in buying the city and in terms of gameplay it's really not fun. When you are already earning 500k/day and everything is automated, there is no more game. You will just speed up time and nothing else to achieve this goal.

all Econ sims suffer the same fate. the problem is that these types of games are one dimensional. They only have one resource that matters and all other resources are gained by spending the main resource.

I can't really think of any games that have solved this problem either. SimCasino, Software Inc, Mad Games Tycoon, etc. once you are able to make a profit and build your "dream" set up there is nothing more to do.

I think games like this need a goal to achieve that money can't buy. perhaps some kind of social ladder where money gets you in, and you need to maintain your status with money, but, getting to the highest steps requires something else, some kind of prestige or social capital.

some kind of lofty goal to work toward would give us a sense of satisfaction when we reach the end game instead of the anti-climax of "just being rich and bored."

I guess other features can slow down the progress to being rich, spend longer in the early and mid game before you become a millionaire, but, end game needs something difficult to achieve that requires more than just lots of money.

Man, do you reach the 100M$ in story mode ? If the response is "No" you have something to do x')
( I have 24M$ on my bank account, I win 1.3M$/days and the game ain't boring 'cause I got a goal to achieve ;) )
