How to paint furniture?

I see that the store sells colored (yellow, blue) tables and chairs, but I can't take them, but I can take regular tables and chairs, the question is, can I paint them?

After you place the item, click on Interior Designer, then right-click the item you want to recolor.

I don't think you can actually recreate that exact pattern, though, since it's part of the "Ika Bohag" color scheme.

Is there a way to do that for multiple items at once? I've tinkered a bit but so far as I can tell you can only paint one item at a time.
