How the heck do you get the mod menu to work?

I tried jumping off a cliff 7 times and tried looking at the inside of my right wrist...nothing :/
How do you get the mod menu to work with steam and quest versions of the game pls?

Throw sword off first, then shield, then fire gem, and then the message board

How do I get the fire gem? Also is there a way to spawn shields and swords?

I found a way to spawn enemies at the temple is this somehow connected to getting the mod menu to open?

Play the levels and you unlock the items on the board. To spawn weapons in the temple, click on the item in the board, then the icon. Should say weapon spawn

I did this but where do the item's spawn? The board only says item enabled or disabled... I also want to note that I did not beat the game.

It's the item icon above that enable/disable. Once you hover over it, it will say spawn weapon. And you don't need to beat the game, just complete a couple levels.

The dog is under the area where we all used to jump to our death over and over =p Took me a while to figure out where to go when it kept saying to come over here. Prob just my slow a$s beautiful mind.
