I've seen my bots do weird things. For instance:
* When training an archer, or a melee unit, the bot wold run up, touch the Archery or Barracks building, then run back to the Keep. It'd do this several times.
* When building a...eh...building...it will run up, touch the foundation, then run back to the Keep, without actually doing construction. If so, it's insignificant, like only 5 hit points worth of construction out of 1000 hit points.
* I've seen some bots that do enter the Archery or Barracks come out wearing their training suit, maybe stab a target dummy or shoot once, exit the building wearing their training suit, and running back to the campfire. I've seen at least once where a bot has run from somewhere else with their training suit, touch their training building, and run back from the area or direction they came. In one instance I saw a bot in training gear actually re-enter their training building and come out wearing their full military suit (armor, helmet); meaning, they're ready for deployment.
The AI's actions may have something or nothing to do with managing a lot going on screen, too. I think the more bot on screen impacts on AI, which means that combat units become slightly less effective (i.e., they don't aggro on enemy units in the same cell; they stand around blindly while a few of them might attack). Which makes sense if there is a lot to manage, then the AI is unable to allocate scripted management in order to multitask all the things going on screen.
Just my thoughts though.
If that happens, I just roll a new kingdom and start again. This game is incredibly fun. All it needs is to rip off Stronghold and this game could be the new Castle Management sim! (J/K)
