Please add this one as a feature. I want to play this with friends, either co-op or versus. Thank you. =)

Another discussion suggested being able to attack back (like Lunar by night sun by day). This would work terrifically for versus battles! It would also put more emphasis on offence and defence especially since this means that you're losing time in your village while attacking.

Co-Op may be the easiest form to pull off, balance-wise. Two players with nearby centers, can choose to build their walls to encircle both their areas, perhaps share resources other than peasants, etc.

A versus would require at the least the ability to construct siege weapons for offensive use.

Balance-wise, a rock-paper-scissors type thing could be used to prevent any one strategy or unit from being too OP when doing a versus. i.e. arrows (especially fired from walls) >> melee. Melee >> Rams and Siege Towers. Covered siege weapons like this >> arrows/ranged. At least that way, even if there is some relatively OP unit in terms of stats for cost or something, it will at least get partly counterbalanced by the rock-paper-scissors effect.

Of course, we need to add a metaphorical "lizard" and "spock" too if we are talking warefare of this age. Calvary tends to be effective against infantry, especially if lined up properly and able to charge. And if magic is involved in combat (it already is a thing in this setting due to unit revival at the churches and the magic fire-archer things you can summon for short periods of time), then there is that as well.

Well, if we do get versus at some point, I imagine we would first get a mode where we attack an enemy castle or something in singleplayer, so that can serve as a good basic testing ground for balancing unit types.

Understanding the idea behind the way you defend from the lunar people, it would make sense to make your troops attack another fort. However, that being said, most players wait till the second day to formulate a real defense. This is because the first nice is easy to make with the 5 troops available. This might make it annoying for some to attack mid day, so I think it would be cool if pvp was only available at night. For example, you build an army in the day and the night time is increased to give players more time to attack. After the battles back and forth, the winner would be the one who destroys the enemy's castle.

I love the idea, I'm just worried with how long you might have to sit and do nothing in the night/day time... maybe have both players attack at night where you choose which attack and which defend. That way the day can still be long and nights be of same length... (and you'll have to consider defending xD

mabe you could choose between a co op and a enemy campaign?? (co op togther and enemy against )
ya i feel what always kills great games is no co-op when it could really use it like cities skylines or any builders. I mean ya a 16 player mode could be to much but just a simple 2 to 4 player co-op would be nice for city builders
