Really, everyone should run 1 pure fire, 1 pure lightning, 1 pure cold, some ranger/thief death sniper, the boring tank of your choice, and then whatever weirdo floats their boat. I just got bored of that stuff.
1. Revolver Coot, 2 pistol gunslinger (fighter, thief, ranger) with all the basic attack bonus skills. Gets buffed with all 3 weapon enchants. I try to give him as much "per hit" poison/bleed etc. Runs 2 masterwork pistols of gore or slaughter.
3 attacks from quick draw x 2 guns x each could go off twice = 12 possible shots every 3rd turn (sooner with cooldown reducers available), with 50% chance of each rune per shot adding damage and a debuff, plus whatever poison/bleed he's putting per hit. When it works it's a giant mess of debuffs plus good crits. Add some auras and he's neat. There's probably better DPS, but I like this crusty old guy.
2. Xazzax, pure lightning (i can't give up at least one pure caster)
3. Lord Pyron, fire tank (pretty worthless, but good flavor)
4. Trinket, the plucky cold thief (control & tricks)
5. Sister Anubis, light monk
6. Congo Clair, the big game hunter who picked up some shadow magic in the heart of the jungle
First turn I freeze everyone, get barrels in position, get into auras I need. The lightning guy starts shocking everyone up, or maybe next turn if barrels aren't in place.
Clair puts all the weird stuff on the worst enemies like soul link, curse, while Coot gets maxed out. Lightning everywhere for as big crits as possible, then Coot goes to town with basic attacks. He makes a debuff mess of the worst enemy. While quick draw is cooling he uses bloodlet or gets hasted.
The rest try to control things and keep Coot and Xazzax alive and buffed.
Cool cool, I forgot about bleed stacks. I'll have to use that with my ranger. Maybe my tanks too. I dk what to do with either of them in the long run.
Simon, Ice Knight: Ice skills for crowd control, moderate damage but he makes really good use of the defensive passives. Dips heavily into shadow to get life/mana stealing as well as Might/Intelligence leeching giving him ridiculous armour from Diamond Ice & Invulnerable Winter. Very strong survivability, highly recommend trying it as an alternative tank.
Bailey, Sharpshooter: Deals consistent decent ranged damage from her basic attack that snowballs as the fight goes on from Patient Hunter. Also makes use of Quick Draw, Quick Hands & Combo Breaker along with specific gear, to attack as much as possible. This accumulates into a ridiculous amount of damage stored up for a Slaying Shot late into the fight that can do ridiculous damage should she crit. Uses the Shadow Stalker Bow to boot.
Elizabeth, Barbarian: Another queen of basic attacks, this time with a big axe. Also makes use of life steal, and Might/Dexterity leech for snowball capability along with the 4th tier Warrior passives. Ridiculously hard to keep down (Immortal Night is amazing) as long as she can keep hitting and killing. One of the funnest melee characters I've made.
Robby, Plague Doctor: Poison all the time. Uses poison stacking weaponry, plague doctor armour, every poison skill and any skill that helps apply more is in his toolkit. Extra shadow damage where possible and all together it's often easy for him to keep a consistent 50+ stacks of poison across a couple of enemies for not too shabby damage. A really good toolkit for dealing with regen and healing enemies/bosses, though like most of my characters takes a while to warm up in a fight.
Alexandria, Mage: Uses only elemental skills, but mainly supportive ones. Teleporting stuff, freezing, building walls of ice, hastes, etc. Takes minutes to play her first turn as most of her kit is AP none, but she can setup a battlefield incredibly well. Does very little damage sadly, but makes up for it with a few key skills like Static Field. Has both Energy Shield and Fever, so her health and mana function basically as a shared bar. Another very fun character, with a different playstyle to most.
Mishaxhi, Assassin: This is a kinda silly character build, but stacking Break the Ice, One Punch Monk, as much crit damage as possible, and Deathblow makes a character that can do insane damage on the first attack they make in a fight, instantly killing all but the hardest enemies/bosses, then basically do nothing else the rest of the fight. A one trick pony to the nth degree, but I can tell you, nothing is more satisfying than just deciding an enemy will cease to exist on the first turn of combat.
These are probably the funnest, and some of the most thematic, which is always a joy to make. Highly recommend all of them.
interesting idea with the mass crit assassin.
Kayla: Deathknight. Shadow/Ice/Warrior. Tank. Primary damage source is Retribution damage paired with life leech.
Thaomar: Lich Necromancer: Shadow/Ice. Summons to support the deathknight. Additional support via leech aura, mass damage spells and single target cc
I'm only at start of Chapter 2 but so far the cut through the enemies like butter. Will see how it plays out in the long run. But it's fun so far :)
