Damage scaling
First off, I am enjoying the game. I have been playing these types of games for quite some time and don't consider myself a novice. I am playing at the 3rd difficulty and it was more fun at lower levels and now I'm at level 16 with 4 characters and it's getting to be longer and longer fights.

Skill damage isn't scaling that well vs the monsters. Map buffs are pretty minimal and been getting pretty much the same rewards that I did at level 1. Monster health is way higher and damage varies a lot vs my team. Some monster area effects take up a huge area on the map with not enough movement left to get away from the blast and they happen every few turns. The only damage that seems to scale well is barrels but they can be tricky to throw. It looks like monsters have endless mana and I have to manage mine. The default skill does poor damage compared to the skills.

I have 1 of the 3 point skills on each character so I don't know if I'm picking the wrong skills or this is normal. I have all my points in one skill tree per character. Attributes are spread around with more going the main stat for each character.

Sometimes depending on the build, going deep into just one is pretty good early game but it seems the game might force you into grinding for better gear (for better damage scaling) and rn most of my builds incorporate some monk passives for perfected soul to increase my stats further by stat dumping into one stat and [Weapon of Choice] for added weapon damage based off of 3% of your total attribute value.

For basic attack damage I recommend going into the warrior tree and grabbing the [Blood Drinker] passive that increases basic attack damage by 50% if you're going that route (if you're melee). It scales rather well with weapon damage, might and any modifier that's damage % or physical damage %.

If you're going for a ranger build I recommend Dex and Might gear and a nice mixture of Ranger and Nature talents for summons and extra damage while you're hexes away from enemies, or if you fancy a spell caster make sure to pick up gear that is appropriate for that type of Caster. Intelligence is quite nice for Cold, Lightning, Nature and Shadow characters (including their respective added damage and added damage % enchants on their gear), Might is pretty much good for everyone, but some builds stand out the most with it like Fire for instance or deep warrior.

I'm sure on the discord there are builds that others with way more experience than I can share, but this is my 2 cents of what works currently for me and I'm pushing Endless mode level 70+ with some tier 1, 2 and 3 gear on all 6 characters I'm using (Paladin build, Healer (Light) Build, Thief, Fire, Cold and Lightning builds).

Your characters aren't going to be beefy by any means at that level, and the game scales based on how many adventurers are in your party plus the difficulty selected so it's quite normal for fights to take longer the higher level you get.

Early game if you aren't in zones that are your characters' levels, you won't get loot for their level and you'll be getting low level stuff. That's about all that pops up in my mind.

Hope you continue to enjoy the game!

thanks for the tips. I did find reset skills vendor and I am starting to adjust my builds.

All the zones show the same level but are some better than others for gear?

Quest lvl will be = to the average level of your party. Sometimes Main Story Quests will be a lvl or 2 higher depending on if you get to them "early."

You can google 'Stolen Realm Wiki.' There is a loot table for all gear that will provide location and mob that drops it.
