Loot doesn't scale with difficulty?
Seems like no matter how hard we play on, we barely get any loot, even from bosses. This definitely didn't used to be the case before the bigger updates. Any guidance on this?

You get more chances % to drop loot as difficulty increases, but you are still limited to 7 items per battle.

We have been getting really bad loot and have been increasing the difficulty but the loot stays low level. Maybe bugged or is that normal?

I don't know the odds for the thing you're farming, but let say the item have 0.1% drop chance. Even a 100% increase from the highest difficulty would only put it at 0.2%.

RNG is RNG, and the drop increase is minimal for rare items.

Loot level depends on mission level which most of the time depends on your average party level. The only exception are main story missions that have a fixed level.
My party has the same issue you're describing, Lyda. We're all around the same level, we play every weekend and consistently succeed, and we literally never get any drops or items in shops that improve on what we've got. Even if they're better rarity, the stats are unplayably low.

Yeah, and we have increased difficulty twice and it's still the same. We played a long while back and as we progressed loot progressed, but it seems like with all the updates that mechanic is no longer implemented which really sucks. Another issue is we are all between level 15-20 and two towns in and still can't even buy light healing potions anywhere (separate from the loot drop issue). Since we're playing on harder difficulties this is really bad.
You have to progress the main missions to unlock potions at the vendors.

In my experience, the loot scaling with difficulty isn't necessarily worth the extra time it takes to complete stages. Loot scaling, however, really shines in "end game" when you can unlock additional difficulty modifiers that increase your loot table. Following screenshot is from veteran difficulty, 3 party members, and after a boss fight with an additional boss.
