Oak's Murder

I stumbled on the lumberjack camp and there is a quest called "The Promise" that wants me to investigate the crime scene where their leader, Oak, was murdered in the night. I easily found 4 out of 5 required clues (Knife in Oak's stomach, bottle of Whiskey, bottle of tranquilizers, and the Axe handle) but I tried everything and can't find the last one. I spoke to everyone I can and even found a guy hanging out on a nearby abandoned house and he doesn't talk at all. Anyone else succeed with this?

I found the clue, but then it says talk to the 3 witnesses which I did but it is not marking off the quest. Am I doing something wrong?

The witnesses are the same group of people you initially met when starting the quest
