Better game but some confusion now

The game is much better than the original launch and also compared to the second playtest. However winter is now gone (i think - there is no snow on the ground) and I am losing health and dieing repeatedly which is frustrating.

There is nothing i'm finding as to why 'i'm about to die'. Hunger is good and water is good. Some type of indication of why this is the case would be great to be able to find as it is getting annoying to continue the game and yet die again.

I am so annoyed with the overheating mechanic in this game, that I am just done trying to play. It is soooo overpowering, happens so so so fast, and I'm still at the start of the game, when I haven't found a bunch of clothing yet, it's just annoying and makes me want to quit the game and give up. On my saved game, I'm overheating and can't even go find clothes or get to a shelter to stop it from killing me because it happens so fast and there is nothing I can do to stop it. The devs REALLY need to fix this and take it down a few notches. This is still happening AFTER the recent patch that is supposed to lower the heat level in summer. I am HATING this mechanic. First, it was the intro of the game where you freeze to death in seconds before u even know how to stop it, now I'm overheating in mere seconds and I really don't want to load an older save and lose hours of game play just to deal with the overheating issue. I have taken off all warm clothes and put on the poncho and pants that help with heat protection, also have on a hat to help with heat protection, and none of that is good enough? That is all I can do and I don't have the time or the will to try and run around looking thru barrels to find other clothes while I take health potions every 10 seconds so I don't die. Ridiculous to me, so I'm done with this game... yet again, till they do some more patches.

yeahi i just got annoyed and quit out now because i keep dying i had no health tonic to stop it. i hope they fix this cause dying then respawing and then dying right away again is so frustrating its ♥♥♥♥♥♥ me off the game.. i really wanna love this game it could be so great but still very rough and a lot of bugs sadly. hopully they fix it :D

The max heat got lowered, but with the hat and poncho I still die outside. It's early game and I haven't gotten to the other places. Do I really have to wait inside all day for the whole season till it's cool enough to find those places?

Maybe i'm overheating. I did not see Winter change to spring or summer so fast in the second trial that the devs had. I only remember snow on the ground for three nights then the snow is gone and I'm still wearing the stuff i had on when it was winter.

That being said i was cold and had to stick close to a fire in the winter, which would make me think i'm not overheating. I will look at the upper left corner of the screen next time to see if there is something in red that shows what is killing me.

What i do know is that when i 'continue' the game puts me close tot he burned out town and i don't have even enough time to do anything by the time i get down the mountainside into the townsite before dieing again. i quit the game after the third time of this rinse & repeat mechanic that truely sucks.

I'll see what happens later this weekend.

More measures against the heat are coming. Those we are just testing look just like what we need. Especially those of you who are already overheated and struggling with that deathly loop.

There is a new update today to hopefully fix these issues. Now there is an "Adventure Mode" so that the overheating and freezing modes no longer kill you. They also say they slowed the progression of overheating and freezing so you have more time to do something about it. I haven't played yet with the latest update, so I don't know how well this was implemented, but the devs ARE listening to the feedback and making changes and fixes for all of our issues with the game and I am grateful for that. Most games don't care and IF they fix the issues at all, it might take months or years (Starfield)... these devs are on it and fix it quickly. Love that.

I'm guessing the heat issue has still not been fixed. My character is overheating at around 21c... I get the reason for the overheating mechanism, but overheating under 25c seems a bit ridiculous

There are different clothing options that can be found or bought (some can even be found directly in Ghost Town). With the right ones, you're fine in the heat. Important is: don't wear nothing, wear the right thing.

Also, drinking water resets the overheat bar.

If you don't want to play with the heat/cold mechanic at all, you can also turn it off by checking "Adventure Mode" in the gameplay settings.
