Is there a way to remove placed buildings or objects?
I was attempting to put down a hare trap for the one of the quests, clicked wrong and dropped a tent instead. I tried removing it but I could not see any way of picking it up or destroying it once placed?

Also the game wasn't letting me build a well for one of the main quests so I wanted to see what I could build and was able to put down a Warehouse and a Shed. I came back later and was finally able to place a Well which unlocked the next quest which requires building a shed and a warehouse. The ones I already built do not count towards the current quest and I cannot see an option to remove them to rebuild for the quest.

The quests seem very linear with no clear progression of what is required to unlock / complete for the later quests. I had also finished all the visible side quests before doing the main quest line so now I am stuck trying to find a side quest to complete as an objective of the latest main quest.

Currently there isn't a way to destroy buildings and placed objects

Yes, currently the removal of structures is not possible. The chapter quests are very linear as they're designed to walk the player through the establishment of a settlement. Normally, they are retroactive for anything you've done but during the last hotfix, something went wrong with the system and it is currently not accepting past endeavors. You can build multiple main warehouses if you put sufficient distance between them so you can still continue the quest. However, as there is nothing yet implemented beyond chapter 3, it is not terribly important. The quest system should be fixed in the next update/fix. Starting a new game is the usual way to reset everything as this is very early EA and much of what is now in the game will be fixed/altered/modified as the developers continue evolving the game for full release.

Thanks for the response. I have seen a lot of "This is only early access, please forgive us" comments which is fine, but this seems more like a demo with very limited game play rather than an early access game.

Yes, it is a bit like that. Toplitz has a different approach to EA than most publishers. They start early when there is still much to be done so they can get as much feedback from the player community as possible to make improvements on not just the bugs but on gameplay elements. This is their 4th "Dynasty" release and the formula works. But the very early EA is very much like this and not always for everyone as updates can come pretty far apart when compared to how much (or how little) of the gameplay has actually been implemented. As the EA progresses, there will be more to do, more to explore, and more to break and help fix.

I do keep checking back to see what updates have been made but there is only so many play-through's you can do of the early content before the LOTR's and other cheesy jokes become stale. I may wait for a building update to try again.

Yeah. There's a few of us total nerds that will keep working to break the game. Most people will check in every so often and try out new stuff when the game updates. No shame in either one.
