In the upper right corner is the quest status. If "Talk to Karen" is there (active) she will have a red diamond above her....If another quest is there, just use your arrow keys to get the proper quest active. (though from my recollection she usually hangs out behind the "restaurant" near her Dye shop.) But then again I do get easily distracted.
I found that after a few misses the deer starts running in circles and I just shoot as it passes. I took about 5 shots. But there does need to be a cross hair of some kind.
Just tell yourself the main character identified as a female.....
So far in my limited game play, quests and being taught from specific NPC's appear to be the only way for the time being.
Unfortunately I had in all other quests the red symbol, but not with Karen. I went through the town several times and could not find her at all. The quest was active shown in my corner while i did it. There were also only yellow questmarkers on my radar.
And hunting works not very well in this game, compared to Medieval Dynasty it is horrible. I had no problems at all to go hunting in that game.
Same in GTAV ..if I shoot with pistol or maschinegun I can hit a flying helicopter pilot from huge distance even with no sniper.
In Wild West Dynasty I shot a deer that often that all the arrows were gone and I didn't even hit it one single time. And I don't believe I suck that much at shooting :D
And thanks Kirsten that info might help me!
This might be buggy. All I did was set the bow to a hotkey, left the arrows in my inventory, and it worked fine. I do see when you hover over the arrows in the inventory there is an equip option, but I've never used it. Maybe hitting it bugs the arrows? Or try equipping/unequipping the arrows?
In the dev live stream they said the all the female character lines have been written, so i guess we might see them soonish lol, but yea will likely be based on how long it takes to fix the bugs.
A lot more than just text is needed for a working female character, but yes, it will happen. That was one of the very big wishes we heard about early on. It just isn't part of the game just yet.
I originally tried just equipping the bow, but it wouldn't use the arrows. The integrity of the bow would decrease every time you shot it, but the number of arrows in my inventory stayed the same and none of the deer I was shooting at ever died. I unequipped the bow and tried equipping it in every available slot, but they all did the same thing. I also tried dropping the bow & arrows then picking them back up, but nothing changed.
I really want this game to succeed because it looked like a lot of fun when I first saw it advertised. It was just giving me a lot of issues when I tried to play it so I'm going to have to give it some time and come back and try it again after some of the bug fixes come out. I'm truly looking forward to how the game progresses!
