I looked on the front page and was just wondering if it is known that if there will be eating and drinking in this survival game?

With your hammer in hand press"B" to place the workbench. The only time you can see a workbench in your inventory is if you try to sell it at the Vendor.

you don't even need your hammer in hand.
The "b" menu is different, depending if you're inside or outside a house.
When you're inside and you press "b" you'll be in the menu for placing furniture automatically. :)

That's even better. Good to know, thanks.

When I press B, I don't get the workbench in the menu - with or without the hammer. That's the point of my problem.

As you're talking about "inside or outside a house": Does the house have to be completed? I could only build the foundation, so far. But actually, I couldn't find out how to build the rest, yet, anyway.

A big problem all of a sudden is also that this fool seems to have a tapeworm. He's never satisfied for more than a couple of minutes and keeps dying from starvation if I don't feed him literally all the time.

Press "i" to open the crafting menu. Select workbenches and in the workbenches menu select the tinkerer workbench. You need to have the required resources in your inventory. Build this workbench.
Then, inside a house, press "b" to open the menu for placing furniture in your house. Again select the sub-menu for workbenches and there you can select the workbench which should now be in your inventory. Click that workbench in the circle menu and place it on the ground - done.
To finish houses, equip a hammer and go close to a wall module. You now should be able to select a wall module for building with your mouse wheel. Please be aware that in the beginning of the game not all wall modules are unlocked so you can only choose those who are available with the start of the game - unless you unlocked other modules in the tech tree (management menu). As I said, move towards the wall segments with your hammer equiped, scroll the mouse wheel until you find the module which you want to build (and which is already unlocked). Now press "E" (default) on your keyboard to confirm your choice or klick left mouse button. Now you can build the selected wall segment by smashing it with the hammer (assumed you have the needed resources in your inventory). Once all the wall modules are built, go inside the house (please don't forget to build at least one door) and finish the roof.

About the high need for food: I bet, you're in winter and your character is suffering from cold.
Rule of thumb: in winter your character needs more food, in summer he needs more water. Both is even worse when you don't wear the right clothes. Check your current clothes for heat and cold protection and select the best clothes according the current weather situation. Also you can protect your character against cold when you light a fire and stay next to it. Staying in a house provides protection against both: cold and heat.
Be aware that the increased need for food and water (winter <-> summer) is increased with the wrong clothes and it can be reduced with "good" clothes.

Thanks for the updated info.

Thanks for the encompassing explanation!
However:
1) My guy is clothed in warm clothes.
2) I have a fire right next to the spot where I'm building the house.
3) What do you mean by "go close to a wall module"? I have already tried going close to or even stepping on the foundation while equipping the hammer and pressing B. No options for building walls.

You need to build the foundation first. :)
1. place the foundation
2. build the foundation.
3. next you see kind of a raw build of your house where you need to define which type of wall you want to place where.

Thanks for the tips! Now, I finally seemed to get the game. However, I just killed a deer and when I wanted to pick it up, it just disappeard. This happened twice. A bug?

You can't pick it up but you can use a knife on it.

But only if it's still there. In my cases, there was only a puddle of blood left when I reached the spot.

Rotten food cannot be removed from the Inventory, greatly increasing its weight, I have 38 pieces and they weigh 0.5kg each (19Kg that I cannot eliminate because there is no letter to throw it away)

Exactly! Had already noticed that, too.
