That said, performance and graphics are likely to changed during the course of Early Access.
Many players have been waiting longingly for WWD and have been so disappointed. I started the game with some expectation and fell into a deep hole with disappointment. WWD has by no means spread the flair of what Medieval Dynasty.
Wild West Dynasty don't stop me saying this is where I want to be, this is where I want to play.
The game feels so stiff just from the movement of the characters. The characters walk like they have a stick in their back, which makes them unsympathetic to me. The game lacks liveliness and dynamics. I played it for almost 2 hours and put it aside for now and wait what comes next.
I do not own the game yet, its just far too early for me right now, so i didnt try it here... But, if you have a NVIDIA press ALT+F3 ingame. You can set up a profile with filters applied ingame like that. (Will always start with the game).
Sharpening for example does wonders.
Good example from DBD from me:

I will try this for myself.
Or maybe it's not an option available on my graphics card.
I bought my computer during the height of the GPU & PSU shortage so I have a pretty low-end graphics card. (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060)
As for the decision. To use Unity engine. I have no idea what goes into that decision. Maybe you have pay licensing fees to the owner of the engine to use it or something and this is they best could get for the budget. Could be any number of things.
I do not expect answer as to why they decided to go with the unity engine, nor do I feel I am entitled to one
