bucket and well

after I built the well I got a message about needing a bucket. after building the shed the bucket was unlocked so I made the bucket. now, how do I get the bucket attached to the well? My well is still boarded up and I can't draw water from it.

The bucket isn't for the well. The bucket is for farming. You click on the well to drink from it and fill the bucket. Use the bucket to water farm plots.

when I click on the well nothing happens, like I said, it's boarded up, been like that since I built it. AND I got a message after the placement that said it needs a bucket.

either you haven't finished building it yet take the hammer in your hand and go to the fountain if nothing is displayed put the hammer out of your hand steal a bucket and go to the fountain press E and dig out the bucket it will be displayed blue then go press to the field and you have watered the field now the same with the seed of your choice

Either that or maybe the code got confused and it built a "broken" well from one of the other locations. You can try building a second well and see if that one works.

Try using the E for Use key.

My well can only be accessed from one side. Go around the well to gain access. My other wells were accessible from all sides so this is new, for me anyway.

ok, it wasn't completely built. if I held the hammer and approached from one side, nothing happened. I had to walk around the well to the other side before it indicated that I needed to hammer it one more time.
