Region Lock

Why is the steam release region locked when there is an English version for all other platforms?
I'm a player in the US, and would have a lot more luck getting my friends to try the game out if they could access the Steam version in their regions.
I would also love the convenience of playing on PC rather than being forced to play on mobile.

I'm using the Mahjong Soul Plus launcher for now, but its mostly just annoying not to have access to the Steam version since the game is available in English on every other platform and is only region locked here for some reason.

Its odd to region lock the game here, especially when there are no other decent muliplayer richi mahjong options on Steam.

I was very sad about that, in my country it's also locked. I think only Asian players can play (like Japan, China, Korean)

I ended up taking a trip to Hong Kong late last year to visit family and downloaded it while I was there, but I still mostly use the English version since this requires a different account and I'm invested in my English server account.

I've seen a screenshot from somebody japanese on twitter and it looks interesting, would love to play it on my laptop....
