I saw several references to "Day of the Tentacle" in "Lost in Play". If you haven't played that game, I highly recommend it.

Going off the theme a little Broken Sword 5 is a great point & click game, with its own wonderful art style.

The Night of the Rabbit has a delightful child storybook vibe. The Whispered World is more like a dark fairytale but also extremely worth playing; it's hand-painted backgrounds are breathtaking (as is its piano-forward soundtrack).

I'd also add Silence (The Whispered World 2) and Tsioque. I don't know if the original poster likes traditional adventure games with actual dialogs with NPCs and more elaborate inventory manipulation (and Night of the Rabbit is one of the more difficult/annoying Daedalic adventures), while Silence and Tsioque are somewhere in between a traditional adventure and a puzzle game.
