Stuck In Cutscene w/ Joker ME1

Hi, all.
I am currently playing the Mass Effect series for the first time via the legendary edition on PC. I have come across a glitch of some sort that I was curious to see if anyone could help me with. After interacting with the beacon on Eden Prime in Mass Effect 1 and getting through the dialogue with the Captain after waking up on the Normandy, I have tried numerous times to talk to Joker in the cockpit. Joker's dialogue would begin, but both Joker and Shepard would freeze in time. After Joker finishes the first piece of dialogue, everything would stop, besides the background music and ambiance.

I have restarted my PC multiple times, shut down multiple times, and googled the issue to see if I was not the only one. I have not come across a fix yet. Am I just doomed to have to delete my save file and start the game all over again?

This is my first official Reddit post as well and I apologize if this is not the correct location for such a post, but I was just curious to see if anyone else was having this issue or if someone out there knew how to fix this.

If you are playing vanilla then you should install the Community Patch that can be found on nexus mods. Legendary Edition still has a plethora of issues that are over a decade and a half old. You might be a victim of one of them.

Thanks for the reply man. I have tried a number of potential fixes to no avail. Before seeing your comment I decided to bite the bullet and just uninstall and reinstall the game (as someone on the EA support page for ME Legendary Edition had the same problem and uninstalled and reinstalled it and it worked afterwards).

If I continue having this issue after reinstalling, I will look into finding that Community Patch. Again, thanks for the help. I did not know if anyone else had this issue or if anyone would be able to help me--seeing that ME Legendary Edition is quite old now. Appreciate you man!

Update: I simply uninstalled and reinstalled after not being able to implement any potential fixes to this problem. That ended up working out--all of my save files were left unscathed and I was able to progress beyond the cutscene with Joker. So in conclusion, the ultimate solution to this problem if nothing else works, is to bite the bullet and uninstall and reinstall the game.
