The weapon penalty for ME1 classes has also been removed in the LE. You may wanna reconsider your weapon loadout and approach for certain close quarter scenarios.
When starting up ME2, I also started on Hardcore, importing my ME1 character, which made me start at level 5... And oh boy. If it wasn't because my Character was a Sentinel with the Tech Armor, I'd have been torn apart. Not just because of how much damage the enemies deals, but also because they're better at using their abilities, moving around cover positions and will actually try flanking you.
remaster, not a remake; although LE1 does still add changes; notably the removal of weapon sway, ability to use any weapon type, gun individualisation (favourite example of this is the avalanche shotgun, which is a single slug shotgun for if you specced into shotguns but want to pretend to be a sniper) and addition of headshots (which arent a thing in the OG ME1)
