tl;dr is broshep canon? to me yes, but I think it's down to the individual to decide their canon.
- The majority of people play as male.
- Male Shep had an actual model/actor face-scanned to serve as his appearance, whereas the female option was stuck with a generic, in-engine, hideous custom character face and only received a somewhat unique look in ME3, but still not a face scan.
- It's a lot more realistic that a male marine would be able to do and endure all the insane things Shepard does throughout the trilogy than a female one.
- Male Shepard makes for a much more convincing physical threat than female Shepard.
