Nah. I got the best ending with 7450.
By the way, make sure you do all the paragon/renegade options with the Illusive Man so that you have more options for dialogue at the final mission. There are three prior to returning to Earth that must be chosen to unlock the final paragon/renegade choices. It doesn't matter if you mix or match them, just make sure to choose the left option (i.e. investigate) to unlock them during your convos on Mars, Thessia, and his base.
2.) I can confirm after a couple playthroughs that you need a minimum of 7800 TMS to get the "Shepard lives" ending, as described on the wiki.
Thats definitely false. 3100 was only for the old version of Mass Effect 3 with the 50% war asset reduction.
Yeah the mass effect fandom wiki
https://masseffect.fandom.com/wiki/War_Assets
It says for LE its 7800 for best ending
Which other wiki are you talking about?
"If EMS is 3100+ and the Destroy option is chosen, Shepard is seen barely alive, gasping for breath (if Anderson is shot by the Illusive Man, the player needs a higher EMS to see this short scene)"
https://masseffect.fandom.com/wiki/Priority:_Earth#Aftermath_-_Extended_Cut_.26_Legendary_Edition
in that section its divided by 2
"so for the purposes of this section "Effective Military Strength" (EMS) will be your total War Assets divided by two if you are playing Legendary Edition"
