Mass Effect 1's level scaling
I was under the impression they had fixed leveling with this remaster so that you could hit the cap in a single playthrough? Without exploits or cheating I was only able to hit 56 with the normal scaling, which is like 28 and a half with the legendary scaling.

And I did absolutely everything, I think I didn't pick up like 3 or 4 things on Xawin, which is the last planet I did before Ilos. So I only missed ~5000 xp at most, which wouldn't have even gotten me another level.

This should most fixed, Aside from the power achievements, the only achievement I didn't get was the codex one, and for the life of me I don't know which ones I missed, unless it was the xawin thing. but codex's aren't even worth much xp so that wasn't the issue either.

If the goal is to keep it so that you have to play new game plus to get all the levels then sure, but that wasn't what we were told.

The remaster is great, btw, just a few things that could have been adjusted.

Can use WeMod or a save editor if the import bonus is desired.

What the point of that? If you're willing or cheat for import bonuses you could just cheat for levels and resorces anyway making the import bonus moot.
So you dont have to replay the ME1 immediately for those extra levels and can move on to playing ME2 regularly. If you lack self control to not cheat elsewhere then thats on you.

With Legendary Leveling you're basically "Power Leveling".

You can't reach max level on your first playthrough.

Requirements are the same as the first game for reaching max level
You can if you do all (side)missions and get all codex entries...

Can you? Because I did that and only got to level 28. Even went through and cleared out planets of any discoveries

If people are gonna cheat in one game chances are they will do so in the next game as well. Rarely will you see somebody cheat just to play the sequel legitimately. Now I don't really care if somebody cheats or uses explots, whatever, it's a single player game play how you want.

Yeah, I was also not planning on 2 playthroughs (apart from Paragon male / Renegade female) so that is good info... xD

Leveling is pretty fast

I managed to just hit level 29 right before the final fight with Saren. I did just about everything I could find to do. Maybe it's just a matter of when you get your xp, since you get more xp with higher levels? Idk, I'm bummed, I wanted to go into ME2 with a max level char for them juicy import bonuses. I spent 21 hours in this playthrough and am happy with the decisions I made for the character. I don't want to do a second 21 hours just for one more level, since it seems like NG+ would wipe all my decisions on the character, according to what i've read online. Unless this version of the game has some way around all that. Idk, might just download a save file or edit this one to be max level and move on with life. I can't in all logical reason do another 21 hours for one damn level.

I just hit lvl 29 on the start of Ilos, and I did EVERYTHING before (all assignments, all planets, all little points, EVERYTHING).

And I just saw I need 200k experience for getting lvl 30 ... It's nearly half the XP I got from lvl 1 to 29.

So how tf can it be possible to reach lvl 30 without NG+ or glitch or cheat ?

Iirc, I do recall at least one scenario/planet with Geth dropships and how you could potentially lose out on a lot of XP if it's not done a certain way. Overall, XP gain needs to be increased a bit by the sound of it. I'm playing on the legacy system and plan on doing the Therum mining glitch for an extra 10 levels or so, just to be sure I hit max by the end of my Insanity run.

In the original Mass Effect you had to play through the game twice to reach Max Level. I'm guessing with the XP Gap between Level 29 and Level 30, plus the comments of people who have cheated in XP, gone over the Required XP but are still stick at Level 29, then the game has some weird hard lock, that prevents you reaching max level in a single run. So I'm betting the only way to hit level 30/60 depending on your levelling choice is to do a second run through with your character.

Listen your options right now are go into ME2 without the bonus, play it a second time to get the bonus or mod the save/cheat to get that little bit you need.

You decide. rationalize it however you like.

no you can use a save editor to just make your level 30.
