Import Character issue?

Just finished ME1, wanted to import my character from LE over to ME2 LE. Except it's showing my character is level 55 instead of level 28. If I'm guessing, it means that either that shows the old leveling setup despite me having set the level cap to Legendary instead of classic, or it's importing my original ME1 save, which I tried deleting, but the file was no longer in the Documents/Bioware folder. Anyone know what's going on?

It converts the new leveling system from me 1 into the old one and convert it. Its literally the same because exp dosn't change.

It doing that because that is how it determines you starting level in ME2. They just round it down.

I think 50 is level 3 in ME2
55 is level 4
60 is level 5
