Climbing in ME1
So, in ME1, there were points where you'd climb on top of things to get to, say, a good sniper point. In LE, I am unable to climb on these, that or I just haven't found the appropriate key, space isn't working, which handles most interacts and that's what it used to be tied to. Any guesses?

There's no way to climb things in ME1, that was only a thing in ME2 and onwards.

Climbing was never...a good thing in ME1 from what I recall. (Old Games)

This is factually incorrect, you can climb on certain crates by walking up to them and pressing space

I would, since that's what he's asking about.

Not saying your wrong - just saying I've lost count how many different situations where he/she could obviously climb something and couldn't.

But yeah.....

This is situations where it was obviously intended rather than just 'a reasonable human being could climb this'. They appear to be gone, my personal guess is that there used to be a specific area tag for climbing on things that didn't get passed on to ME1 LE.

You can climb onto things if you angle yourself just right and press space but it's not exactly easy. I spend more time spinning and ducking into cover than I do hopping onto crates.

If they tried to automate it, gotta say, they failed.

Yeah you can climb over short boxes, especially in those recycled buildings with 2 floors with the staircase. I didn't see the prompt for it after completing a side mission today. I was actually looking for this too. But it wasn't really necessary.

in ME1 i've only climbed once, and never had the opportunity or was able to otherwise. Literally saw some loot I could only acquire by climbing a block, and all I had to do was press space on it.

I'm not sure as to which situations you are referring to, because other than that one time, I cannot think of another time they would intend for the player to climb something. The functionality is obviously there, but its possible they just didn't implement correctly in some spots.

A quick google search reveals that they took that option out and moved the loot you'd gain from locations where you had to climb to locations where you don't need to climb. So yeah, they took it away from ME1.

Weird. I literally did this last night when exploring some planets in the Artemis Tau cluster. Climbed a box and opened a box and everything.

A on Xbox controller. There's no prompt for it anymore though.
