Problems with FPS (solved)
I have a big problem with my FPS I cant seem to solve.

First of all, what I tried so far:
Disable all the Overlays (Steam, NVIDIA, Origin via deleting the programfile)
Disable all Controllers and periphery other than mouse and keyboard.
Disable VSYNC
Update graphics driver.

What the problem is:
I start the game, and it runs smoothly at 120 fps.
But the longer I play, the worse the fps get. They gradually go down until they land at about 20 fps after about 10 minutes.

I seriously have never seen anything like it and I dont know where to even start to solve that one.

Anyone any ideas?

/edit
You wont believe what the solution to my problem was.

I use a Roccat LeadR Wireless mouse.
When I start Mass Effect while the mouse is in Wireless mode, the Bug occurs (FPS drop to 15).
But when I start the game while the mouse is wired and then change to wireless when im in the game, it works.

I have no idea what and why, its still the weirdest gamingbug I have ever seen.

I got exactly the same problem, never experienced something like that before. Hope they fix that fast or I'll have to refund

You aren't alone. Someone on the ME subreddit posted a video of his 3070 with an i9 beastly rig dropping into the 20's and 30 FPS range.

There's either something on Nvidia's side or the game needs some optimization and post-patching or a combination of the two. I expect patches will start rolling out in the coming weeks.

I can only speak of my expierience but slowly declining fps could be a overheating problem?

I gave up for now too. Nothing works. The game is just unplayable at the moment.

Similar issue here.
I've noticed that my gpu clock completely drops whenever I apply any kind of input, whether it's mouse movement or pressing a keyboard key.

Nope. no Computer issues whatsoever causing this, I ran OHW during gaming.
Temps steady at 50 degrees celsius, CPUload at 30%, only a third or Ramspace used, GPU at 40% max.

Thats the thing, I actually know what I´m doing/what I have to look for when problems arise. But this one is just so weird I cant even begin to think how to solve this.

I am afraid this one is unsolvable from the users end.

There's a few odd entries in the system config folder in ME1 that i saw. Though i'll admit i don't know a whole lot about the tech side of things in games.

Here's the file address. (your drive)>Steam Library>Steamapps>Common>Mass effect: LE>Game>ME1>Biogame>config>Bioengine

If anyone knows alot about the stuff in the file maybe you can figure out what might be the cause.

Its called memory leak, and its an optimisation issue. But I am not surprised that people try to defend devs and blame the customers.

Memory leak would be my guess to.
As much as I hate to do it, I had to downvote the game for now. I will change that the moment the game becomes playable.

Yep i have a similar issue any kind of input freezes the game for like a second. I started a discussion about this but had 0 replies i was starting to think this was an issue on my end. The only fix i found was playing with a controller.

(People on older post with different games mentioned that turning off any kind of razer software helps as well [unfortunately i dont have any])

Having fps issues in the mako going from 200 fps down to 30 fps when exploring Presop in hawkings eta cluster, keeps bouncing back and forth, massive frame pacing issues.

bump

I just noticed something even weirder while browsing through Steam for answers.
Whenever I tab out of the game, the framerate goes back to 200+ fps. The moment I tab back in, the FPS drops again.
What the hell is that. Its the weirdest thing I have ever encountered in PCgames.

Its called memory leak and it has to do with game optimisation ( it happens if its bad )

The other "effect" it has is that the fps slowly drop more and more the longer you play.

I still haven't noticed this particular problem, but sounds like a memory leak
