Mass Effect 1 can't set to 2k borderless or 4k in any setting at all
Bordesless and Windowed modes for 2k give me small screen instead of the general easy to switch borderless

And no mater what I do 4k resets to 2k even for the fullscreen res

Anyone else having this problem?

Yep. Same here. 1440p is fine, all above doesn't work. It switches back to 1440p.

I had this on a multi-screen set up. Turned off the other screens and the other option appeared.

Have no multiscreen.

I'm not having this issue at all. Running at 1440p with freesync on my Q70R 120hz.

Are you sure you have your scaling options set correctly?

Well, I have an AMD GPU, so things may not align with you if you're running an Nvidia card, but... The main thing is to make sure you have both GPU and integer scaling turned off.

Also, try running it at 1440p in windowed mode, then alt+enter to see if you can snap it into fullscreen. I have to do that with a couple games (ABZU is one of them) for some reason

Same here. Got a laptop with 4k display and no matter if I use windows, bordered or fullscreen I get the 2k res. I certainly am getting no 4k in either ME1 or ME2. Haven't bothered to even boot ME3 yet.

Same here. I got it to work the very first time I switched from 1080p to 4k; however, it no longer saves the setting and I cannot set the resolution higher than 1080p.

To change the screen res select the one you want and also uncheck AA or any other option, then when you back out it will apply the res change. Then re enable whatever you turned off. I had the same issue changing to 4k

I found a fix.

Just open the ini file located here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Game\ME1\BioGame\Config

And manually change the resolution. Worked like a charm. When I started ME1 from the launcher, it was in 4k.

Can confirm this did the trick. I originally even tried putting the game back to Fullscreen, and it "lost" the 4k setting. Only way, period, I can set 4k was in the settings (intersting enough, it opened in window mode, I changed to borderless, and it remembered the 4k setting).

For those wondering, it's the GamerSettings.ini file, "ResX" and "ResY"

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
