What the hell is going on with the price?
How is it possible that the improved and more stable Legendary Edition trilogy, which includes the excellent remaster of Mass Effect 1, now costs $6, and the OG trilogy costs $30?

I mean, the classic ones should be 90% off right now and cost like $2-3 each. :Garrus:

Also legendary requires you to install Origin, the thing I don't want back on any PC I own, where you can get 1 and 2 on steam without it.
It's why I haven't bought legendary. It would have been an instant buy even at full price for me given how much I enjoyed most of the series, but they continue to tie it to that ****** store then I'm not going to bother. Gave the service a chance a couple of times in the past, and they proved that wasn't worth it in a few ways, so I have no interest in it going forward.
Origin was insanely good, at least compared to the EA app. That piece of crap won't let me change the language for any game, and it also won't let me play my games for weeks at a time because it has server errors

At this point I guess the discount for legendary is to bring in the players who had originals but didn't see a value in LE. Originals now is kinda not supported: I haven't run original games for a while but I do remember ME2 was trying to login to Cerberus Network and ME3 to EA account to verify DLCs so not really sure if those servers are still up.

Lmao, sure the remaster is "improved and more current", that's why for all 3 games you need the Unofficial Patches/Community Patches which attempt to fix the truckload of visual and gameplay bugs introduced in the LE. The remaster of the 3rd game is just a port of the Wii U version, and the remaster of the 2nd game is a port of the PS3 version which was broken and criticized even back in 2011.

This is what your remaster looks like:

Ironically, in this case the price reflects the quality. Maybe you pay 24 bucks more for the OG trilogy, but you get the games in unbroken states. The DLC is also free since 2022, and it's easier to avoid the EA App.

You should actually be glad they didn't delisted the old versions at all like many publishers do, it's actually nice of them when you think about it :papyrus:
