Citadel DLC - can I exit anderson's apartment?

I accidentally started the citadel DLC without knowing, and proceeded to the mission where I had to escape from an assassination attempt. However, being on insanity I absolutely could not find a way to get out with 1 health and a weak pistol after about 40 attempts. The worst part is my only save is in Anderson's apartment. Am I screwed? Is there no way to exit the DLC?

How can you have only one save? I had like 40 saves that I cycle through and save manually while deleting them. Are you saying you do not manually save?

Every area I have 5 saves until the mission ends. Then I keep one save for every area I have been to while recycling the rest of them.

I'm a minimalist kind of guy lol. I have OCD I must delete unnecessary things. This goes for all my games, files, desktop, wardrobe, room, you name it.
