I believe I read from Bioware's statistics that Liara is the most popular romance, by a pretty hefty margin. I tend to choose her for most of my playthroughs myself, but I have romanced Tali and she's adorkable.

But remember, if you don't romance Tali, she romances Garrus. My bird boy needs love too.

Liara has the most screen time of any character so that is the biggest plus for me. As always Bioware has a canon romance in all games

I'm disagree that Liara has the most time. In ME2 only shadow broker dlc is about her, when if you try to speak about relationship of yours she always hurry to go until the end of dlc and that's it. Meanwhile Tali is full romancable character from the beginning of me2. So I believe Tali has most screen time.
I played twice in 2021 and It also seemed to me during the last playthrough that Tali had more dialogue in general than Liara through all triquel.
Never romanced Garrus though.

If you always pick Tali as a companion then yes. Mostly because she is available as a squadmate in all 3 games. But in terms of cutscenes Liara gets 11-17 hours(depending if you skip something or if you romance her among other factors). But like I said it's really no surprise. Bioware is famous for this. They always have a fav in all games. Kotor= Bastila. SWTOR= Lana. Dragon Age Origins= Morrigan DA2= Isabella. And so on... Liara is the only companion that can't be killed so even if you hate her you will have to watch 11 hours of her minimum. She even appears on Andromeda and on the Mass Effect 4 trailer...

Well that's the magic of the game of course. Other characters are really well done also but they still have their favorites. In Morrigan case her entire story is tied to the main plot. She even gets her own DLC just like Liara. And she's the only character in all of Bioware games that you can have a kid with. I remember she even appeared in one of DA2 launch trailers

As for Isabella, again her story is tied to the main plot. In the cinematic trailer she is the only character that appears besides Hawke and the Arishok, not even Varric does, and you can clearly see her kissing Hawke. You can even duel the Arishok in single combat for her. It doesn't get more romantic than this...

You are right forgot about Leliana song. However it just explores her backstory and you play as her. While with Morrigan you play as the Warden and have the chance to get a "happily ever after" so to speak

After doing all of them as both Shepards I can say that for BroShep Miranda is the best romance as she is the only one who has proper romance continuation in ME3. Close second is Jack. For FemShep there's nothing better than Garrus sadly, and close second is Thane.

Liara is just horrible for both Shepards, I never liked her romance at all because she's a writer's pet and the whole character feels forced on you (i.e. you have to like her, wanted or not). Also, I can never shake off the feeling that Asari appearance is pretty while they are underneath some tentacle beasts manipulating you with mind games and pheromones to appear beautiful to you and all the other races out there. God knows what other genetic engineering Protheans done on them besides gifting them with biotics (shudders in hentai).
