Anyone else upset about Wrex being replaced?

I am playing legendary (1/2/3) and I just finished ME1, I am only a couple of hours in ME2 and I just learned that Wrex is replaced by the young Krogan, Grunt. I managed to save Wrex rather than shoot him in the confrontation in ME1 so I was told I will encounter him again as a diplomat.

I felt like Wrex was more like a fatherly figure to the team and Tali especially, lore and attachment aside, is there any skill advantage in Grunt replacing Wrex besides the age difference? Does Grunt offer better skills where he lacks in experience in comparison to good ol' Wrex?

Wrex has a more important role/part to play in the story, thx in part to you IF you helped him and DID'NT kill him

No one can ever or will replace Wrex, he just sort of, if you didn't kill him, got promoted! He got a better job, you'll see!

Fair enough, I guess I will still see Wrex again just not on the battle field. Hope they bring him back in ME4!

Strangely enough I didn't find either Wrex or Grunt as amazing squadmates combat wise, their abilities just don't seem to be all that. I'd have to say that Wrex probably would have the edge due to access to biotics which are just absurd in ME1 tho.

Slight spoilers for mass effect 3 You can use Wrex as a squadmate during the citadel dlc, and most squadmates of previous games in the combat arena the dlc adds so you can directly compare the two yourself to see which you prefer

wrex is tanky as, with health regen and shield he was taking on 3 big geths alone while I was dealing with the little crawlers in me1 -sorry not gonna read the spoiler but I thank you for censoring it! !! :)

I really enjoyed the story line over the three games where characters got BOOSTS in status. I missed Wrex when Grunt showed up and won't even talk about the Shadow Broker, but those events really gave a special feeling to the game as not just a Batman and Robin kind of expectation.
