What's the best 3rd party software to play with a ps4 controller on this game?

You dont need 3rd party support to play it
the game supports playstation controllers just fine as i have been using a ps5 controller since it came out and a ps4 one before that

But I believe you need to ensure that Steam support for PS controllers is enabled, though likely that is already true. If your controller starts acting wonky, that's probably what's needed.

Even with my steam support for PS controller on, the game does not recognize it.

I refunded the game due to the same issue. Does not recognise ps5 controller plugged in to usb.

Also the best software is steam. You can map anything via the steam controller layout.

Then you refunded for no reason. It does support PS4 and PS5 controllers. You need to adjust it in your steam settings or start in Big Picture mode. Alternatively, you can also download and install 'DS4 Windows' (3rd party software for making PS4 and PS5 controllers to be recognized by Windows) if for whatever reason Steam Input isn't working (which it should).

It doesn't work. Has been known for years that this game has issues with recognizing controllers, especially PlayStation ones. It even says on Steam that this game only fully supports Xbox controllers.
