I don't like talking to the Prothean guy.
Been so long, I totally forgot so much in this game. The prothean dialogue is so insulting and condescending I just want to put a gun to his head and ship him out the airlock.

Centuries, actually. Its significantly longer. Regardless, that's a stupid long time when the body count was millions in a single day in some places.

Thank you, it just proves how superior the protheans were.

Also there is no remains of civilizations in cycles before the protheans which just proves how resilient they were.

Not trying disagree with your larger point, but there are several relics of antecedent civilizations that are described in the game, such as the mass accelerator that damaged the derelict Reaper in orbit around Mnemosyne--a world, interestingly, named after the Greek goddess of memory.

But even 50,000 years is a very long time for any artifact or evidence of a forerunner civilization to survive. Heck, all of human history is only about 8,000 years!

It reminds me of how people will treat stuff that happened 50 or so years ago as 'ancient history' despite there being entire generations that grew up through that time.

Humans are really, really bad at wrapping our heads around the sheer scale of things.

Nah I don't think very many treat 70s as ancient history just yet. Maybe zoomers, but from their perspective it's understandable as for some even their parent's weren't born yet.

Likewise, Javik clearly sees that for all his people's ruthless doctrines and ideals, all it did was delay their extinction. When he begins to see hope in the reapers actually being stopped, you can tell a very distinct change in his character; he didn't really want this brutal and cold mindset, but it was all he knew for a long time until now.

Bollocks.

The war with the reapers in their cycle lasted DECADES. Can you see ME galaxy resisting for decades?

Current galaxy won due to schematics for the crucible being ready and because you are the player. As a civilization the protheans were VERY succesful.
Correction: As directly quoted by Javik "The conflict lasted for CENTURIES"

I think a good thing to point out is that by the time Javik was a soldier the Protheans had already lost and he was in one of the few (temporarily) hidden holdouts.

The Refuse Ending in ME3 also had the Reapers take their sweet time wiping out the remnants. That doesn't mean the 'conflict' lasted for centuries.

By virtue of the passage of time, if the Prothean-Reaper War went from day one to when they retreated back to darkspace after the last Prothean was either killed or harvested, then yes, the "conflict" did logically last centuries. And if such a thing had happened in the current cycle, that is, the galaxy quite literally being at war with the Reapers for centuries, then the same logic would apply

There's also fun misinformation built into the game, like how Illos is actually a planet of the Inusannon; the dominant species in the Cycle before the protheans.
But this isn't really obvious in the game at all and it never comes up with Javik.

So the Protheans leaving behind tons of stuff isn't unusual or unique.

How is it misinformation for the Inusannon being the former dominant race before the Protheans and that they once inhabited Illos? It was understandable that people might think the statues were of Protheans since at the time we didn't know what Protheans look like, nor did we know what the previous masters of the galaxy were. But Javik himself literally saying "built on the ruins of the civilization before us" when describing Illos? Nothing you're saying is making any kind of sense
