Achievements unlocked from the start

So, I bought MELE today, just a few hours ago, and when I started it to check if it works, I noticed that in ME2 and ME3, all in-game achievements are unlocked, including every Paramour (for romances) and beating the whole thing on Insanity. As I've said, I bought the game today, didn't play it, barely touched it (didn't even create a character).
I thought it might have somehow carried over from original trilogy, I did get a 100% in Mass Effect 3 a while ago, but I sure as hell didn't get all achievements in ME2 so that can't be the case. Both Steam and EA App say I have zero achievements unlocked in MELE, as it should be.
I did stumble upon a thread on EA Answers from quite some time ago about the very same problem and while I'd hoped it was fixed, it seems to still be happening. If you've experienced it yourself, were the achievements unlocking as they should on Steam despite the issue? I wanted to do a 100%, but now I'm not even sure it's possible.

Well, I have the same issue as you.

I even lookup an old workaround ( https://answers.ea.com/t5/Mass-Effect-Legendary-Edition/Incineration-specialist-achievement-bugged/m-p/10676162#M12707 ), plus removing all related EA desktop / services / app to be sure (Progam Data + AppData)... all achievements are still unlocked ingame.

I even tried something new ( https://answers.ea.com/t5/Mass-Effect-Legendary-Edition/ME2-achievements-already-unlocked/m-p/11973769#M15403 ), but as soon as you are reconnected to internet and you reload a save, all achievs are listed again ingame. But for sure, "GamerProfile" is one of the culprit, probably a EA cloud file that is messing with everyone achievements...

Since yesterday (Oct 30), achievements can't be triggered on Origin / Steam for me (ie: recruiting a char and finishing a story quest). My last achievement is on Oct 29.
EA App Beta has messed up all of this. :/

I'm so sorry to hear it has affected you (and probably many others) as well. I also tried the workarounds from the first thread you linked and just like in your case, it didn't work. I'm frankly amazed that EA did nothing about it for so long, it can't be that hard to fix on their end. And as a completionist, knowing that achievements from ME2 and ME3 might be completely bugged and impossible to unlock, that's just makes me sad.
Maybe I should ask for a refund and see about buying it again if this problem ever gets fixed.

Hey, thank you for your kind words. Waiting for a real fix is indeed a wise choice.
ME:LE is on sales every 3 months or so.
I hope that they'll patch this very soon. :/


I don't know if it's viable in the long run, as EA want to push players to another platform... but for now :
Uninstalling EA App and going back to Origin has worked.
This is probably enough, but I've also combined it with the first link (clearing Origin cache). Just to be extra sure. Achievements work again this way (ingame tracking + Steam and Origin pop-ups).

Got the same problem... Idk if that is a new server bug since i found you have unlocked part of the achievements before Oct 30. And i get NO achievements which i just started playing ME2 yesterday. So sad

Damn, I knew I should have stayed on Origin, I jumped to EA App just a day or so before buying MELE. Just my luck for decision-making. I wonder what will happen once Origin gets phased out completely, hopefully they'll fix it somehow by then. But hey, at least for the time being, that's a really great fix you've found there, cheers to you!

Having the same issue. Also, got some ♥♥♥♥-huge reward for "completing the game before" wich i havn't. Also, seems like i can't get Steam-achivements wich sucks...

It just worked, Thank you so much for list the solution here! But i also found that EA gonna close Origin soon which means time's tight haha. Respect to you lady.
