Did I fail the Tuchanka bomb mission?

I'm replaying Mass Effect: Legendary Edition and I've noticed something odd whilst playing Mass Effect 3. I forgot about the mission countdown between finding the Turian platoon and defusing the bomb and got carried away playing side missions but received an email from Wrex stating that the bomb went off. When I went to check the galaxy map however, the mission was still there and played through normally with Lieutenant Victus successfully defusing the bomb.

I've heard people mention this before but I'd like to get a straight answer. Is this a glitch and how will it effect the rest of the game?

It's a OG glitch/bug that they have not fixed for the LE.

You can check to see what flag is set by looking at your Krogan War Assets. If they are down by 300 or so points, then the game has flagged that the bomb has gone off, but if not down then the game has flagged for success of mission.

I can't remember if the outcome of this gets talked about anywhere - if it is, might be in the last mission about whether you saved the Krogans or not, but don't remember anything of this myself -, so it might be something that just effects War Assets... and if you're on track to get over the line for what you need for 'best' War Assets... I'd say just play on.

AFAIK/IIRC the Total War Assets you can get, if you get/do everything, is around 8,500... and you need 7,400 for the destroy/breathes ending... so even with losing the 300 or so Krogan War Assets, you should still be able to get the destroy/breathes ending if that is what you are aiming for.

Thank you for the response! Since I have not yet cured the genophage, all I have under Krogan war assets so far are Grunt and the Krogan First Divsion. How and when will I know if the war assets are under what they're supposed to be?

You will find out after doing the mission Priority: Tuchunka, as it unlocks various Krogan War Assets... and this will tell you what the game has you flagged as.

One of the War Assets you get is the "Krogan Clans"... with the following outline to help see what the game has flagged (when viewed right after mission):

- Base: 300 points
- Destroying data in ME2: -50 points
- Bomb goes off: -250 points

If you saved the data in ME2 you will have either 300 or 50 points in "Krogan Clans" - 300 if the game has flagged the bomb mission as successful, or 50 if it's flagged as failed even though you managed to do it successfully.

Or if you destroyed the data, then you will either have 250 or 0 points in it - 250 with bomb being deactivated, 0 if it went off.

If you want to know you either have to do this mission, or download the MELE Save Editor and use that to check the game flags in your save file.
