Thanks but I eventually beat him using all my launcher ammo and all my medi-gel... Good that I came prepared unlike most people who will not have full ammo and medi-gel.
Forcing this mission on the player is a MASSIVE oversight and can literally soft-lock you. Half the time I beat encounters in this game I feel like I just cheese and exploit the enemies' broken AI. Absolutely terrible gameplay, I cannot see how anybody can say this game is better than ME1. ME1 had its frustrating moments sure but at least they didn't limit medi-gel and ammo because they realised that inflating enemy health leads to frustrating grindy gameplay. At least they designed their game around the bad combat. ME2 doubles down on its lazy difficulty design.
I just always hear from ME2 worshippers that "ME1 has bad gameplay which is why ME2 is much better"... Well tbh I think all 3 games have below average gameplay (lazy difficulty design, poor weapon feedback, sloppy controls, bad team mate AI) and ME2 is no better in that regard.
If there's one thing I like about ME2 it's the amount of companions you can get, that's about it really. Maybe I will have a better opinion once I beat it but damn it can be a grind on Insanity.
It does have more enemy variety I'll give you that.
The cover system is horrendously clunky, it's marginally better than ME1 but still sucks lol.
In addition to more weapon and enemy variety, ME2 also has more useful powers on faster cooldown, the powers are more varied, there are location destruction (arms, legs, flamer backpack), headshot bonus, maps are bigger and better designed. Definitely an improvement.
For the collector ship, try knocking the enemies off while they are still flying towards you. Play to your class's advantage, don't save heavy weapon ammo. Warp combo can be useful as they may throw the victums off the platforms.
Except you can't lift enemies that have barriers and armor and my squad mates die instantly no matter what piece of cover they take. The first encounter was designed terribly because there was nowhere to go and exploit the AI like I can do in literally every single other encounter in the game.
Lmao the ME3 multiplayer? Not in the LE.
Also read the thread before mouthing off about unrelated nonsense.
This is my, at least, 4th time around with the entire franchise. It's absolute brilliant. Love it to bits.
Games that just make it hard because it's cheaper to do are the pits! This has many permutations and upgrades that get you though. Anyway.
It was still an objectively badly designed section, why would I retract what I said?
It's a pretty bad spot for combat because you can basically be hit 100-0 HP with bad luck if you don't know what to expect, but once you get past that first or second wave it's a lot easier. Personally, I always thought Horizon had the hardest parts of Insanity, followed by the final mission (which always required me to use my heavy weapon at least once during the biotic section). I never had as much difficulty on the collector ship as most people. But it depends a lot on your class build.
I know there's no multiplayer in LE, my point was self explanatory, that the old multiplayer raises your skill levels at playing Mass Effect. Insanity is actually a breeze and it's even easier in LE than it used to be.
If you have access to the old multiplayer, give it a go it will help you out.
