What is the mystery ship in Shepard's cabin in Mass Effect 2?
So I just noticed something that used to bother me but never fully realized it until now. I love the ship models in Shepard's cabin. I love ship models in general. I'm at the point in my life where I need more house so I can display more of my spaceship models... Anyway, of the 10 ships you can buy for your cabin, 1 of the models doesn't match "what's on the tin" as they say. It's in the display case in ME2 on the top left, sort of sandwhiched between the Destiny Ascension, the Turian Cruiser and the SR2 Normandy. When I bought it, it said "UT-47 Kodiak Shuttle." I know what the Kodiak is, and that ain't it.

What actually IS it?

According to the wiki:

"The model you get on the rack after purchasing it in Mass Effect 2 isn't actually a UT-47. It matches the concept of a "human heavy cruiser" from The Art of Mass Effect art book and is identified as an "Alliance Shuttle" in Mass Effect 3. The design can be seen at the beginning of Kasumi's loyalty mission, and appears similar to the vessel that brings in Gatatog Uvenk near the end of Grunt's loyalty mission; but neither of them is explicitly identified."

Thanks for the info. That's interesting. On the topic of it being named as a human heavy cruiser all I can say is yuck. I really like the Systems Alliance design aesthetic and that ship completely clashes with it.

on the subject of cabins, what is the purpose of that hole in the wall in Miranda's cabin.

There's a hole in the wall? Is that where they keep grandpa Martin Sheen when he's off-camera? You know, like those horror movies where the twist is that there's person in the walls... Okay nevermind.

I wish this remaster game us a way to view the models up close. All the models! Like character models and all enemies. The delicious ships. I love having that feature in games. :special:

I assume a computerised mirror so she can look at data while brushing her hair.
