Uh, are you sure you don't have the two sides mixed up . LE looks much better.

Oh my god. I just watched this and OP you must like blurry images and dark lighting. It’s no comparison the legendary version is like night and day....literally.

It is much better then the old games, i wonder how often ppl really played the trilogy. I can dream the 3 games, that often i played them. Create textures for games myself via nexus and i see how much improved the textures are.

The most importend thing for me for owning the remaster is that i can download the trilogy in 1 single hit on the button and i got everything including better textures and grafices that doesn't take me a lot of time to install. When i play Mass Effect trilogy, i like to play them all from 1 to 3 it took me often a huge ammound of time to get it all right. Also it gives me extra years that i can enjoy this amazing trilogy . Now i hit that button and i see all 3 games in front of my on screen and can choose which character i am gonna play. It even takes less space now without all the mods i used with the old version

Lighting is just as important to improving visual fidelity as improved texture work is. If your lighting doesn't work well, then it can ironically make your textures and models look worse than something that is lower fidelity, but has specific lighting to compliment it better.

Legendary Edition uses a more accurate lighting solution, and accurate does not necessarily mean better, and accurate also does not mean that it faithfully recreates the same conditions of the original game.

There are definitely comparison images I've seen of the original game on PC, and the LE PC release, and the lighting can really make or break whether LE looks good or bad. The first game in particular has this issue where things sometimes just seem way too glossy or oversaturated.
This for sure, people underestimate lighting I think.

One of the biggest reasons I find ME2 to look better than ME3 is the lighting. Me3 may have had better textures but if my Shepard was going to have unflattering lighting throughout every conversation, I don't care how good the graphics are.

I'm a chronic screenshooter and ME3 was so disappointing for me compared to ME2.

OP trolling, trolling, trolling on the river. ME1 is so obviously better.

The legendary edition looks way better most of the time (a few scenes looks better with the different lighting in the original, but not many).

Off course it is subjective.

The original with Mods looks better than the LE in some places i agree with that, they completely changed some things like the red skies on Eden prime for whatever messed up reason; my screens of the 2007 version just look grittier/raw more moody/eerie compared to the bright colourful version of the LE, textures are clearly better in the LE for the most part though.

Look at Garrus face here, better imo but ofc the armour has less textures

the 360 original does not look better at all, even the pc version doesnt if you dont include mods. Even with mods though the lighting and some of the more subtle changes dont look as good as LE. Lets also remember that at some point LE will have full mods running on it and so this is kinda mute topic by then.

LE looks like modern bioware.

I agree, but I have a feeling this particular thread is just about getting youtube traffic.

Maybe not better, But comparable. Comparable enough to be able to say that the graphical improvement comes down to a gamma adjustment.

Modern Graphics, updated to ...slighty more modern graphics.
Was not enough justification for wasting resources on it instead of adding VR support.

You could literally get 90% of the graphical upgrade of LE by changing from Cool to Warm2 for the color temperature.

Lol no.

I think the major problem in the first game is it's clear a lot of the models weren't designed with the updated lighting/textures in mind. When you start upgrading resolution/lighting in games that weren't originally designed for it, tons of ugly flaws that were never meant to be noticeable suddenly become obvious.

I still think the updated graphics are an obvious improvement, but there is definitely a lot of stuff in the game that could have been massively improved instead of just slapping on a resolution/lighting upgrade and calling it a day.
