What is the appeal about Tali?
I get it, she's a smoll thingy that looks up to you and always welcomes your guidance. I get the appeal.

I'm simply wondering why so many people are attracted to that specifically. Is the majority really into Tali that much more than any other character?

I guess people like her because she's very easily flustered and enamoured with Shepard which makes her very endearing. Personally don't like that. I enjoy my romance to be a bit more mature, hence I romance Liara every time.

I'd kill Ashley a hundred times over on Virmire. Can't stand her xenophobic/hardlining ass.

When I completed ME2 in 2010, I discarded Tali as a romance choice because.. there was Miranda and I was a horny teenager.
In 2021 when going into ME2, I didn't planned in advance who I wanted to romance but somehow Tali won my affection. She is really interesting character but becomes a little boring towards the end of ME3 because her arc ends after Geth-Quarian conflict.
Still canon-wise I consider her and Liara to be in TOP-3 choices for Male Shepard.

Tali is just a very nice character with a very clear arch that pays off in ME3, if you play through each game you really feel a connection to her, unlike Ash and Liara that don't really show up until ME3, if you discount LotSB.

Ashley and Miranda look similar in age. Both are women in their our right both are mature enough to be counted a experienced women. Something that cant be said about Tali or Liara. Ashley looks her age and Miranda looks very similar to her face model who was 27.

Liara face model was 22 and Liara has worse baby face than she does. The only unknown here is Ashley’s face model but she’s extremely unlikely to of been closer to Liara actors age than Miranda’s that’s common sense. Ashley in 1+2 gets compared to Michelle Rodriguez and Nadine Velazquez in 3. They’re not exactly below 25 are they. Michelle was 28 at the time. Ashley looking a bit younger. So that put her about her in game age.

I guess I just have a better sense of age. Hardly the first time I’ve been better at something.

Yeah almost all characters say xenophobic stuff but only Ashley gets called up on it.

Turians flat out killed Humans because they broke a citadel law they didn’t know about. Then called us primitives and decided it was okay to conquer us. The first contact war happened recently just before the first game. I wonder why Ashley doesn’t like Turians etc. Our first contact ended with people dead and a yeah you belong to us now.

"I can't tell the aliens from the animals!"

There is no defending that

Also did you just unironically say "hardly the first time you've been better at something"? Jesus H Christ dude

Agree with several reasonings here. The Rannoch arch in ME3 is just not nearly as impactful if you did not romance her and this effect on the main storyline wasn't really as much given with any other romance option.

As for the character itself, everyone needs to make up their own mind what they like and what not but for me primarily it's the mystery about the appearance, allowing you to pretty much make up what she looks like. Also her character development over the course of the trilogy.

The only thing i disliked about Tali was her strange English accent, but i never played the trilogy in English anyways, so, problem solved.

Turians treated humans like dirt. You can see their callous behaviour in the I think the citadel dlc in 3. I was a lot more cool with Turians until you see they’re not exactly cool people. They didn’t even attempt to talk at the relay. They went we could speak but went nah fired. That’s pretty racist. Sad when humans are the race showing off their moral superiority. We’d likely at least talk first.

Turians: why don’t humans trust us racist aggressors.

Mordin is fine with a total genocide. Says it was fine originally. Ashley calls them bug eyed monsters.
Mordin is beloved.
There’s a big difference with words and genuine actions.

Ashley also gets on with Tali. She says more xenophobic things than she really is in actual practice. She definitely doesn’t like a lot of aliens but he action betray that she’s not naturally that way. It caused by the first contact war.

Also my comment was tongue and cheek it’s hardly a serious comment. I see why bugged eyed aliens went way too far. A stupid comment just put you on the edge. Have you thought about making a bugged alien baby yet? Might be good for you.

Well, her flustered girlfriend routine is kind of endearing to me, but besides that, those Quarian suits? Clingy. ♥ I've always really liked the Quarians. I was so, so, so disappointed that Andromeda didn't include them.

TBH I've always been pissed at Bioware for shamelessly ripping off Battlestar Galactica when making the Quarians and I honestly can't believe there was never a lawsuit.

If this is what you think the appeal of Tali is, then no, you don't get it.

Even though it's obvious this is a troll thread (which you'll deny, of course, as trolls do).... What you think people are attracted to about Tali is wrong. Futile though it is to explain it to you, someone else might read this and actually gain some insight.

The reason people find Tali attractive is both personality and physical appearance. Her personality is one of innocence. That doesn't mean "looks up to [Shepard] and always welcomes your guidance". It means she hasn't been jaded by the universe like Miranda, Jack, Liara, Aria, etc. Liara had the same innocence through most of ME1, which is why people love her, too. Tali is extremely smart and thinks for herself. She's confident. And she's also adorkable, which is attractive almost always. The way she responds when Shepard flirts with her just makes her even more attractive.

As for the physical, she's slim and has an obviously female figure. Don't think this needs elaboration.

It's easily defensible. Look at the Elcor. They look like lumbering beasts of burden. For a civilization who most of its members have not met other aliens, or very few of them, it's not surprising that one would mistake a race like the Elcor as an animal based on sight alone. The Hannar literally look like a species of jellyfish. And rachni literally look like giant bugs.

A lot people that bash Ashley easily forget that humanity is still extremely new to the galactic scene. Easily over 90% of the human population has never seen the majority of the races Shepard encounters on their first visit to the Citadel. It's racist or bigoted or narrow-minded of Ashley to say that. It's statement of observation.

Even though you would never admit it, when you first encountered the Rachni on Feros, you thought it was a bug in that glass containment unit. Now take that and apply it to seeing dozens of new races you never knew existed that you're seeing for the first time. How do you know which are intelligent and which are like the varren based on visual, first time experience alone?

Based on what you quoted, no, they didn't say anything like this. I see that his post is edited, but your quote is of the edited version. So no clue what you're on about with this.
